Our Origins & Ongoing Commitment
Founded in 1991, the DreamMakers Foundation and its Dream Maui project were created to uplift Maui through art, culture, and environmental stewardship. Despite challenges over the years, the mission has remained constant: to regenerate Maui’s spirit and beauty for generations to come.
Today, as global challenges grow, Maui has the opportunity to shine as a world example of sustainable living – where creativity, community, and innovation come together to protect paradise.
Jason’s Journey
- Early Career in Renewable Energy: Before Maui, Jason founded The Solar Exchange, later The Energy Exchange, which became the largest independent solar brokerage in Southern California.
- Move to Maui: Jason relocated in September 1988 and began his real estate and mortgage career in January 1989.
- Decades of Experience: With over 47 years in real estate and 37 years on Maui, Jason brings unmatched expertise and local knowledge to every client.
- Why Jason chose the I’iwi as the Logo: The I’iwi is a symbol of hope, rising from the ashes like a phoenix. It pertains to the Maui Lahaina Fire of 2023 and our island-wide recovery efforts… and I’iwi the bird is an endangered species!
Media & Community Leadership
Jason has also been a media public access TV pioneer on Maui:
- In 1992, he co-founded the TV series “M.A.M.A. PRESENTS” with Ms. Airielle Pearson, producing over 1,000 shows highlighting Maui’s art, music, and culture, and environment.
- He continues to host “The NEUTRAL Zone”, a weekly program focused on Maui’s future.
- Jason serves as Executive Director of the DreamMakers Foundation, M.A.M.A., and P.A.P.A., registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 1991.
